PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar is visiting shrines to offer `chadar' and pray for the peace and harmony as well as the progress and prosperity of the state.
On Sunday, he went to Khanqah Takia Sharif and Khanqah Munamia, both in Patna City. On Saturday, he paid a visit to Khanqah Mujibia in Phulwarisharif.
The CM first went to Khanqah Takia Sharif and met its sajjadah nashin, Khwaja Ruknuddin Ahmad, and asked him to pray for peace and prosperity. He also offered `chadar' at the grave of Hazrat Ruknuddin Ishq. Later, he visited Khanqah Munamia at Mitan Ghat and met Syed Shah Shamimuddin Ahmad Munami and offered `chadar' at the grave of Hazrat Qutbul Alam Makhdoom Shah Munam Pak.
Later, speaking to mediapersons, Nitish said that he is visiting the shrines to pray for peace, social harmony, communal amity and state's development with justice so that Bihar becomes a developed state by 2015. He said that the state can achieve its glory only by maintaining communal harmony.
Those who accompanied the CM included water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chowdhary, State Minorities Commission chariman Naushad Ahmad, DM and SSP. Later, Nitish went to village Khoksa in Vaishali district and paid tributes to noted social workers Jaimanti Devi.
